Meet Éanna

Éanna- meet the founder

Kia Ora! (Hello in Māori)

I'm Éanna Corry, the Managing Director of Éire Ed and point of contact for teachers wanting to make the move over to New Zealand.

I made the move from Galway, Ireland all the way to NZ in 2022 to expand my teaching career. Like you, I dreamt of adventure and a fresh start in a beautiful country. Now, after making that leap over 3-years ago, I'm a proud Permanent Resident of New Zealand and passionate about helping others navigate the exciting journey of teaching in New Zealand. I am currently back in Ireland, searching for talented teachers that are looking for a new, exciting challenge!

New Zealand offers a vibrant laid-back lifestyle, incredible landscapes, and a supportive education system. But I also understand the challenges – from finding a job, to navigating visas, to finding the perfect place to live. I'm happy to assist and be your link to a new adventure.

Teach in New Zealand

Teaching in New Zealand

Teaching in NZ schools puts you at the heart of the community, allowing you to connect with students, families, and colleagues in a genuine way. This really immerses you in the Kiwi culture.

The schools here are known for their innovative curriculum and supportive environment. You'll have the freedom to develop your teaching style and collaborate with other passionate teachers, all while benefiting from ongoing professional development opportunities.

Many schools in NZ incorporate exciting field trips and outdoor experiences into their curriculum. You could have the opportunity to travel on school camps and trips taking you to stunning national parks, geothermal wonders and beautiful beaches.

Living in New Zealand

People & Culture

Aotearoa, New Zealand is a melting pot of culture, language, and differing experiences. As a relatively young nation it has one of the most diverse groups of people, including a large base of English-speaking Europeans.
It is also the ancestral home of the Māori people; the Tangata Whenua, or people of the land, that makes Aotearoa New Zealand a unique and wonderful place.

Here in New Zealand there is an emphasis on connection to the land and community, through art forms like the haka and intricate carvings reflecting their history and beliefs. Today, Māori culture is beautifully woven into New Zealand, with their language, Te Reo Māori, gaining increasing prominence.

Balanced Lifestyle

Kiwis are friendly and welcoming people who really embrace work-life balance!  Connecting with nature through outdoor activities or indulging in local foods at restaurants and beach barbeques are a must. As a teacher, you have the opportunity to explore local Vineyards, Orchards and Protected Wildlife with your school and on your time off.

Travel

Exploring New Zealand's beauty is stunning by car, camper-van or a short domestic flight. From snow-capped mountains to golden beaches, all within a short distance of each other. If you're looking to go further afield, countries like Australia and the Pacific Islands are all just a short flight away.
